Cllr Mairi Chapman
Crick Parish Council
Mairi joined the council in 2021 with a desire to put her passion for the community to good use. Mairi moved to Northamptonshire in 2011 with a desire to move back to the countryside and develop a career in dog training along with her husband. She studied Business Management, with a particular interest in organisational change and behaviour. She also lived in London for three years and worked in sales and marketing with a prestigious Art Gallery. Her role there enabled her to travel to a variety of countries focussing on selling contemporary and affordable art, gaining extensive knowledge in the progressively changing art world.
Mairi moved to Crick in 2017 and has said that the community here is 'incredibly welcoming and offers a good variety of social groups for newcomers of all ages to the area. It's hard not to love Crick and the people in it.'
Mairi is now an accredited Dog Trainer, and with her husband runs Vale K9, which offers training services to dog owners as well as owning the local freedom field for locals to exercise their dogs, which is located on their farm.
Mairi is also heavily involved in the local Scout group. She runs the Cubs section and has a passion for teaching children about the outdoors and life skills. She strongly believes that some of the best and most memorable experiences in our lives, even as adults, can be forged in the outdoors - with a group of people that have a passion for sharing knowledge and having fun. Mairi is also passionate about the environment and is an active member of Crick Wombles.
