Crick Parish Council are exploring the creation of a Climate Action Working Group to consider and respond to the potential impact of climate change on the village, it's residents and the surrounding environment

The aim of the Action Group will be to come up with and prioritise actions that the community can take, to mitigate the impact of climate change on the village and the local environment

This is something that other villages have already started (Braunston, Barby & Kilsby to name the most local ones) and it is envisaged that Crick would affiliate with these wherever it makes sense to do so, and also with wider West Northamptonshire and Warwickshire initiatives.

We obviously need to be realistic about what we can do and what we can't do, but there are numerous initiatives that could be undertaken that would have a beneficial impact over the coming years.

It is very important that membership of the Action Group covers the entire cross-section of the community, and it is particularly important that we engage the younger generation, as this is likely to be a long-term project. It is also important that the Action Group works closely with, and involves, Crick's community organisations and local businesses

We are still developing plans for the working group and need to agree the terms of reference, so it is likely to be after Christmas that the group comes together for the first time, however, if you are interested in getting involved in this project please contact John Bamber (john.bamber@crickparishcouncil.org.uk) - 07590 578773 or the Parish Clerk (clerk@crickparishcouncil.org.uk)
