Proposals for Solar Farm on Land South West of Crick Straddling Kilsby Road

Proposals for Solar Farm on Land South West of Crick Straddling Kilsby Road

Alpaca Communications contacted Crick Parish Council on behalf of Voltalia requesting an opportunity to speak about their proposals for a Solar Farm on land South-West of Crick. The land is a triangular plot of approximately 50 hectares, wedged between the M1, the M45 and the A5. Although this land is not in Crick Parish, it borders our parish and will impact Crick as it straddles the Kilsby Road, one of the main access routes into the village from the south (see PDF attached below showing the location).

July Meeting:

Alpaca Communications plan to attend our 18th July Parish Council meeting to speak to the Parish Council during the Public Participation Session. This will be a brief session to explain how they plan to engage with the residents of Crick and discuss their plans for a public consultation event.

They will soon be launching a website that will provide information about the project and contact details for the project team. In addition, they will be delivering a 'brochure' to local residents who live near to the proposed site, to provide them with information about the project and the ability for them to give feedback by way of freepost. At their public consultation event, local residents will be able to speak directly to the project team and answer any questions. The Parish Council will be made aware of all public engagement activity before it is conducted and will assist in publicising the event.

Have your say:

It is important to understand what local people think about these proposals and that they are kept informed of what is happening. At the time of writing, no planning application has been submitted, and the public consultation event has not been arranged, so this proposal is in its preliminary stages. We will keep residents informed if/when a planning application is submitted to the Local Planning Authority (West Northamptonshire Council) and we will let you know how you can comment on the proposal.

18th July Parish Council meeting

The 18th July Parish Council meeting is not the opportunity to formally support, object or comment on the proposal, but you are welcome to attend to learn more about it.

The meeting will start at 7:30pm and will be held in The Old School, Church Street.

If you wish, you can also contact Crick Parish Council with any questions by:

Or you can talk to one of your Parish Councillors. Their contact details are on the website Councillors | Crick Community ( and are published in your copy of Crick News.
